Them Hazzard Boys Are at It Again

The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! (TV Movie 1997) Poster

Featherbrained but has a gentle mood to it that makes it slight fun

Years after the family unit accept grown upwardly and gone their carve up ways, Uncle Jessie organises a reunion to bring all the association back together again for a party. Once Luke, Bo, Daisy and Cooter are all dorsum he tells them that he needs help to fight a holding programmer who is trying to build a theme park on the swamp and build access across his property. The developer challenges the boys to a race – her stock car against theirs with the winner taking all. When Daisy makes a discovery that all may not be what information technology appears she is kidnapped – can the boys rescue Daisy and win the race?

I watched the TV show when I was younger merely I tin't retrieve much beyond comedy lawmen, Daisy's body and auto chase after car hunt, so mayhap this film wasn't aimed at me – just I watched it anyway. The reunion has a thin plot that is a footling daffy just washed with a slight chip of tongue in cheek. It gets a petty stretched at times (the final race is a bit of a joke) equally information technology takes on too many commitments without fitting them in well, but the light tone helps this.

The comedy is gentle and helps the motion-picture show generally. The automobile chases are quite basic but there are ane or 2 moments where the stunt drivers deserve a lot of credit (a mid air collision is a high point) but the really cheap back project spoils whatever illusion of who is in the cars for real. If you were looking for genuine tension or excitement and then you're in the incorrect place I'm afraid.

The cast look genuinely happy to be back and there is a respectful tone for those who had died since the Tv show wrapped – Booke's Boss Hog being the biggest loss I retrieve. However everyone does what they are supposed to practise. Uncle Jessie doesn't look that much older, Wopat and Schneider enjoy themselves and Bach still looks skillful despite not quite having the same body that she had as a youngster! Best reprises his role well and as well covers for the loss of Booke. The addition of some martial arts action in the shape of Cynthia Rothrock adds a little spice to the mix and stops information technology becoming quondam as well quickly.

Overall this is all a scrap silly and is probably best served to fans however there is plenty fun hither to justify those of us who watched the series but wouldn't call ourselves fans.

Welcome Back Dukes

It is quite rare for a TV reunion movie to be equally good as a series itself but this Dukes of Hazzard moving-picture show was bully.

The original Dukes of Hazzard serial was merely manifestly fun-it was the blazon of prove anyone could relish. This movie recreated the magic of the original series and even though the stars were a lot older that made absolutely no deviation to me-I however liked them and they were all the same disarming in their roles.

The flick may non accept had Boss Hogg in merely to it'southward credit they did admit Boss Hogg unlike some TV reunion movies which seem to forget certain characters.

A bully movie which will be loved by fans of the Idiot box series.

Hazzard County comes to life one more time!

Tom Wopat and John Schneider revive their fourscore'south characters every bit, once again, the "Good Ol' Boys" rise up against corruption in the South, this time in the form of a businesswoman (Stevens), with the aid of some friends from the onetime series.

You know, I grew up in the Dukes' era, and I was mildly surprised at how good of a job director Lewis Teague did with this film. I know that the original series has some corny plots past what we come across present, merely, for those of us who grew up in that fourth dimension, there wasn't one of us alive who enjoyed the original series without picturing themselves behind the wheel of the Full general Lee. (I had to mention the car - subsequently all, it was the car(s) that made the jump, not those boys.) A trivial older, perhaps, but the actors walked in and picked upwardly on their original characters similar they've been doing them for the last 20 years.

Dukes Reunion . . . Yee-Haa!!!

The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! was a movie long in waiting. Information technology was nice to meet the Duke boys and the General Lee back in action. If you like the testify, yous would definitely like the moving-picture show. The old "relieve the farm" technique was used, only that is what all fans of the show are accepted to. Even though Sorrell Booke, aka Boss Hogg, has passed, they did a lovely job of incorporating his memory into the movie. My only problem was with the slight prop imperfections, but what do you wait. Hopefully some other picture is in the works, even though Denver Pyle, Uncle Jesse, is also no longer with the states. I'thousand gone.

Best Reunion Movie For This Serial

Warning: Spoilers

THIS Comment MAY Contain SPOILERS :

I never thought they would ever do it, then I was totally blown away when I saw the Dukes of Hazzard Reunion on CBS dorsum in 1997. The serial became hot all over again when it played on TNN and now on CMT. It was indeed sad that Sorrell Booke equally Dominate Hogg had died. I remember hearing nigh it during my senior year in college. But his being best-selling was fantastic. I never in one case imagined Rosco every bit both boss and sheriff of Hazzard, just that made information technology even more enjoyable. I feel that Catherine Bach still looks great as Daisy Duke. Okay, sure she didn't accept the same physique she did in the series, but yous have to understand. She recently had a infant prior to filming this movie and she was in her 40's at the time every bit opposed to being in her 20s/'xxx's during the series. Not many people accept that aforementioned physique when they become older. She looked fantastic!! Tom Wopat and John Schneider had no trouble returning to the roles of Bo and Luke Duke. At present Bo existence a NASCAR driver, I could believe, I felt that Luke being a chief firefighter was a bit odd. Daisy had a good catch up story of being in a failed marriage and she put herself through college and graduate school studying environmental. Great to see Enos back and now he's a tough competent cop from L.A. merely still maintains his honest, shy, boyish amuse. I loved that he and Daisy courted and was looking forward to their matrimony and the stop of the movie, only to exist greatly disappointed that the wedding was called off because Daisy's idiot ex husband shows up past accident.

James Best is Funnier than ever as Rosco P. Coltrane, now the caput honcho of Hazzard Canton and his scenes with Stella Stevens every bit Mama Max were accented jewels to lookout. One priceless scene was the emotional scene when he talks to the portrait of the belatedly Boss Hogg.

I loved the fact that Cooter also served in Congress just like Ben Jones did in real life. And it was slap-up to see Rick Hurst render as Cletus, especially since the serial never revealed where he vanished to when he departed during the fifth flavor.

The only affair I didn't like about the movie was Bubba and Bertha Jo. Now I know that these movies need supportive characters, just surely they could have come up with better. Bubba and Betha Jo got on my nerves and the fact that they married instead of Daisy and Enos made me despise them even more. But information technology is notwithstanding a terrific reunion film and specially to see Bo and Luke racing effectually in the General Lee only like the old days. Information technology is peculiarly a great risk to run across Denver Pyle one more time as Uncle Jesse since sadly, he would pass away on Christmas of that same year. The Dukes of Hazzard Reunion is a motion-picture show I will gladly give two thumbs up.

Better than the original bear witness!

This film was a lot of fun. Lots of fun jokes. The original cast looks bang-up. Stella Stevens is a riot equally Mama Max.

A Good Onetime Time

I bought and watched this on Prime Video.

Prime number Video has Reunion (1997) and Vudu has Hazzard In Hollywood (2000), each are $10.

They managed to make most of this feel like the original show, only with older people.

The chance part of the story more than or less works.

Emily Proctor (West Wing, CSI Miami) plays a mechanic in this.

Action/Fight star Cynthia Rothrock is a fighter in this and also best friends with Daisy Duke.

This was a practiced time.

Rosscoooooe Peeeeee Coltrayne - yeeee ha!

Ah, such sweet memories. The squeal of tyres on mud (!), the free bums in tight shorts shots, the sped upwards action sequences and Daisy Duke (looking a fiddling less fantastic than I remember, but still a fine lookin' woman) - does information technology get whatsoever better? Well, information technology might've been had Boss Hogg still been with us. :( Damned funny watching them all run around, a little pudgy and wrinkly but, remainder-assured, it'south still full of the skilful onetime fashioned Knuckles over-acting complete with woeful plot. :) Dem Good Ol' Knuckles Boys haven't inverse much; I swear Bo is still wearing the same jeans he wore back in '77. Then, if y'all get a chance to scout this reunion, git on down to the Boar'southward Nest, sink a couple of brews and let out an old "Yeee Ha!" for old times sake. But drive home safe, ya hear!

A reunion? They should've tossed their invitations.

Warning: Spoilers

The dukes and all of their friends render to Hazzard county for a reunion festival, and accept new adventures which include a anticipated plot near a greedy woman who wants to buy Uncle Jesse'due south land, and plenty of car chases. Despite aging and deceased actors, this movie manages to retain most of it's original fashion. The characters yet human activity like you would expect them to, and the activity is every bit entertaining as ever. A special kudos tin can go out to the casting department for getting all of the original actors they could, and not trying to cover up Sorrell Burke's death past having another actor play Boss Hogg.

That's pretty much all the good I can say for this motion-picture show. Other than that, Roscoe Coltrane just isn't as funny without his "little fatty buddy" around to constantly harass and degrade him. It's not quite as funny to run into him equally the new "boss", although it is fitting for his character. Seeing him as a dimwitted sheriff was funnier. The other characters piece of work better, merely it's hard to see Denver Pyle struggle to say his lines with his impending death of lung cancer.

And now the major flaw-Political Correctness. This flick, like many other TV shows and movies from the 90s, was injected with an overdose of pc. The "Tough Man" competition is changed to the "Tough Person" contest, there is a 100 pound blonde female wrestler who physically harms at least half the male cast, including her fellow, which Daisy seems to think is a victory for all women everywhere. The bad woman basically turns good in the end to avoid being arrested, while her male person underlings learn nothing and are abused equally a consequence. (1 guy is even taken for a ride in the trunk of the General Lee. And in the stop, Daisy decides not to marry poor Enos at their Wedding, just considering she basically didn't feel similar it. What a cop out! Geez, they might besides take removed the amalgamated flag from the General Lee!

But the worst office is, there actually isn't a whole lot of laughs. What fabricated the original serial so funny was Boss Hogg and Roscoe'south banter- which, similar I said before, tin can't be found in this motion picture.

Anyhow, long-time fans who don't mind the PC, and are really interested in seeing what happened to the characters may find it entertaining. To everyone else, it'due south just a dumb, impaired movie.

Not too bad... only like the Tv prove!

Alarm: Spoilers

I am a huge fan of the Telly testify, and equally this movie was so like, I enjoyed nearly every infinitesimal of it. It was great to see Luke and Bo back and looking great - still the same former boys! Daisy was wonderful -a strong woman and still a lovely 1. Enos came dorsum! YAY! He and Daisy finally hooked up! YAY! Roscoe was himself likewise! Uncle Jesse was slap-up every bit the head of the family unit - he will exist missed. Every bit is Boss - the pseudo-villainy of the man was missing from this, but Roscoe followed in his footsteps well.

Warning: HERE BE SPOILERS!!! What I didn't similar was that Daisy seemed to be flaky at the end. I never got that out of the TV testify, and I actually didn't call back that she would break Enos' heart like that; simply maxim that she can't go through with the wedding because she saw her ex. She ought to know Enos is not similar her ex. He was wonderful as the still loyal homo.

And my but question is - when are Bo and Luke going to get hitched? Some lucky daughter out there is waiting to be a Mrs. Duke.

A Pleasant Homecoming

Warning: Spoilers

Reunion shows are ordinarily a mixed purse. On the one hand, it is ever tempting to see your favorite shows as a kid and recapture past viewing pleasance. On the flip side, many of these re-makes are non well done, and they negate the good memories these shows agree. The Dukes Of Hazzard Reunion does a apparent chore for the most part of honoring the original series, providing a plausible storyline and not straying too far from the original concept.

The show opens by getting united states of america reacquainted with the principal characters equally 1 by i they converge on Uncle Jesse's subcontract. Bo is at present a professional race car driver. Luke works for the Forestry Service. Cooter is a congressman, while Daisy is a grad educatee at (appropriately) Knuckles University. While Enos works for the LAPD- a nod to his deviation from the original serial- Roscoe has inherited the deceased Boss Hogg'southward fortune and is double dipping as both Sheriff AND County Commissioner. The Duke clan must terminate crooked land programmer Mama Max (Stella Stevens) from building a theme park in Hazzard Swamp- the state on which the Knuckles Farm sits. Along the way, we're treated to the usual hi-jinks which characterized the series; car chases, bumbling cops, non-besides-bright criminals and fun and adventure with our ii principal stars and the well-nigh famous Dodge Charger in history. Information technology is a theme that works well considering of its familiarity.

"The Dukes" is not without some sadness and regret. The late Sorrell Booke, a wonderful character actor who masterfully portrayed Boss Hogg, is not on paw (There is a wonderful, touching scene in which a tearful Rosco speaks to a painting of Boss in his part). Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse) was ill with cancer when this picture show was made yet gamely soldiered on. Gone is Waylon Jennings, the deep voiced country music legend and Dukes Balladeer. And those expecting to see sexpot Catherine Bach- the object of every male fantasy in the eighty's- volition surely be a scrap disappointed, equally historic period has fabricated her a mere mortal.

Despite these factors, the original Dukes Of Hazzard holds fond personal memories of childhood, and this movie brought many of them back while successfully paying tribute to the series.

Long awaited and generally well done!

The plot and surviving cast were great here as we see the Duke Family and the lawmen in fine activity again, this time to effort to deal with a crooked developer and her cohorts. A nice capstone to an former fun family friendly series with an absolutely complex legacy.

Certainly, compared to the unrelated R-rated later day movies of the newer casts, both Reunion TV movies of the surviving original cast mates are raw gems of decency!

Boilerplate ... at all-time

Warning: Spoilers

My 10-year old son and I just finished watching the reunion on CMT, and it's the 2d time i've seen it ... it was his first. i vaguely remembered non liking this reunion, now i remember. Enos and Daisy's marriage doesn't happen, Cooter's a Congressman? The main thing that really seems to bother me is that Only Bo drives the General Lee. Why is that? Did John Schneider'due south ego cause him to demand that in his contract? I've done some searching on the internet simply i tin can't seem to find this discussed anywhere.

The plot was predictably thin in regards to original content. Simply, how many of us were expecting globe-shattering suspense or mind-blowing changes?
